Courses organized by CAST members or by outside entities sponsored by CAST

One of the main objectives of CAST concerns education in the field of tourism.
CAST has contributed to the organization and creation of different higher education programmes and continuing education. In addition to specialisation on the topics of cultural and sustainable tourism, the close cooperation with lecturers in the Bachelor in Tourism Economics (in italian) and Master in Tourism Economics and Management of the Rimini campus makes CAST the national reference for quantitative research in the sector.

The recommended courses may be activated in the ongoing academic year or in the following one.

Tourism and Covid-19

Online workshops as continuation of the “Network of Education on Sustainable Tourism” project (NEST)
The Pandemic of Covid19 virus has created an unprecedented situation in world tourism. It is still difficult to measure the total impact of this situation on the travel sector, while an unclear and unstable future is highly plausible for many areas of tourism. In order to understand what future can bring for sustainable tourism development and how developing countries can respond to the expected crisis in a post-pandemic world, the Centre for Advanced Studies in Tourism (CAST) of University of Bologna organizes a series of online workshops starting from the first week of June. Events are organized in collaboration with the University Residential Centre at Bertinoro (Ce.U.B.) and the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS).
